Our favourite Toronto boutique hotel is turning 10 next week! In typical Drake hotel fashion, they are marking the occassion by being awesome and giving away presents and a whole bunch of surprises to the public.
From February 14 until February 20, the Drake will be counting down to their birthday with prize giveaways that will include $10 rooms and an ultimate prize pack that consists of a Drake Sleepover, a cocktail masterclass, a pair of tickets to their birthday bash and a gift pack from the Drake General Store. Yes, please!

So last weekend I was hanging out in NYC. It was mostly a foodie expedition, it was Restaurant Week – which is the same idea as our Summer/Winterlicious. So we did a LOT of food research before the restaurants were named that were participating. In our search we looked for drink specials, just cause we’re foodies doesn’t mean we’re not broke!
The search turned up Epstein’s Bar.
We were sold, this made us add it to the MUST DO LIST, which was a very exclusive list, since were were only really in the city for two and half days, and we were already quite full. Saturdays and Sundays they have a thing call Absolute Brunch, and for $13.50 (and before 2 PM) it’s unlimited mimosa’s or bloody mary’s plus breakfast! This just sounds like the best idea ever, right?
Correct. We worked up an appetite with a stroll ( i should say puddling walk of melting) through the Brooklyn Flea Market on what felt like the hottest day i’ve ever experienced in life. Then hopped on the subway and headed in to the East Village for brekkie. We were worried there’d be a line. How could there not be, $13.50 unlimited breakfast booze… apart from the four girls and two dogs on the patio, the place was deadso. Are we missing something? If this place was in Toronto, there’d be a line around the block overnight to get in here. But i was thankful there was no line, since it was disgusting out, and i was desperate for a mimosa.
We ordered the breakfast burrito. YUMMY. Seriously, why is this place not packed? It was simple and delicious, with homemade pico de gallo, and the tastiest homefries.
When in NYC, i highly recommend this place. The staff were polite, they have a station where you can charge your iphone, ipod, blackberry slash any other device you accidentally left on all night while partying, and the large windows make for some great people watching!
For $13.50, it doesn’t get much better than this.
